Jacob Phillip Martin, 76, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2024, at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, Texas. Officiating will be his son, Reverend Darrell Martin. Cathe Lynn Cobb, 73, of Orange, Texas passed away at her home surrounded by her family on June 24, 2024. Born in Orange, Texas on October 24,1950 to her loving parents Elafay and Anna Mae Bergeron. Cathe was the oldest of their four children. Cathe married David Cobb in 1970 and spent her life raising her 4 children. OPD Looking Into Four Burglaries

The City of Orange Police Department is currently investigating four separate burglary cases.  Three cases were reported on Friday, June 21st, and one was reported on Monday, June 24th.  The burglaries occurred at apartment complexes within the City of Orange.  During the burglaries, forced entry was made and items were taken from buildings at each complex.  Security footage shows 1-2 black males driving a dark colored SUV.  If anyone recognizes the subjects or the vehicle, please contact the City of Orange Detective Division at 409-883-1095 or report it anonymously to Crime Stoppers of SETX … [Read more...] about OPD Looking Into Four Burglaries

Stroud New Pinehurst Chief

The Pinehurst City Council met in a special session Tuesday night and hired Stephen Stroud as their new police chief. He replaces Chief Chris Humble who left to work for the LCM Police Department. Jocelynn Trussell has been the interim chief. Stroud, 48, is a Vidor native who has spent the last two years working for the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Before that he spent time in law enforcement in Galveston, Sabine County, Center, and Shelby County where he also worked as an investigator with the District Attorney's Office. Melba "Doris" Adams, 85, of Vidor, Texas, passed away at her residence on Friday, June 21, 2024. Born in San Augustine, Texas, Doris was a cherished member of the Vidor community for many years. She was a devoted member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church and spent her career as a dedicated cafeteria worker for Vidor ISD until her retirement. Officer Taken To Hospital

Monday night around 10:30pm eastbound traffic was stopped on IH-10 near mile marker 864 after a refrigerated truck carrying seafood turned over. Traffic was backed up as it was being diverted to the FM1132 off ramp. The driver of the truck only had minor injuries. Some time later while traffic was being diverted by Vidor Police, a woman driving a Dodge Charger did not take the off ramp and instead drove into the police cruiser that was blocking the interstate.
