OPD Looking Into Four Burglaries
The City of Orange Police Department is currently investigating four separate burglary cases. Three cases were reported on Friday, June 21st, and one was reported on Monday, June 24th. The burglaries occurred at apartment complexes within the City of Orange. During the burglaries, forced entry was made and items were taken from buildings at each complex. Security footage shows 1-2 black males driving a dark colored SUV. Stroud New Pinehurst Chief
The Pinehurst City Council met in a special session Tuesday night and hired Stephen Stroud as their new police chief. He replaces Chief Chris Humble who left to work for the LCM Police Department. Jocelynn Trussell has been the interim chief. Stroud, 48, is a Vidor native who has spent the last two years working for the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Officer Taken To Hospital
Monday night around 10:30pm eastbound traffic was stopped on IH-10 near mile marker 864 after a refrigerated truck carrying seafood turned over. Traffic was backed up as it was being diverted to the FM1132 off ramp. The driver of the truck only had minor injuries. Some time later while traffic was being diverted by Vidor Police, a woman driving a Dodge Charger did not take the off ramp and instead drove into the police cruiser that was blocking the interstate.
