Fireworks Show A Blast
The City of Orange hosted their annual fireworks show on Independence Day bringing thousands of men, women and children to downtown Orange to enjoy the show. People were seen on the waterfront from Bluebirds Fish Camp to Orange Shipbuilding, and as far back as the parking lots of the Lutcher Theater and the Stark Museum of Art. Former Mill To Build Manufactured Homes
The Executive Director of the Jasper Economic Development Corporation, Eddie Hopkins announced on Tuesday that a deal had been struck, the papers had been signed and a Houston based company will soon start building small manufactured homes here, resulting in 50 jobs to start with. According to Hopkins, the deal that began with negotiations in February of 2003 is complete and Gated Rentals will soon crank up the operation at the site of the former Louisiana Pacific Plywood Mill on the east side of town.
