TS Beryl: 7pm Update

The 7pm predictions from the National Weather Service has once again moved TS Beryl's landfall slightly north of the last predicted location in Port Lavaca. The eye of the storm is currently headed for Bay City. NWS says a Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect for Jefferson, Hardin and Tyler counties until 3 AM Tuesday. A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm force winds (40 MPH or greater) are expected in the warned area. Bring in any light or loose objects that could be blown around in these winds. TS Beryl: 4pm Update

At 4pm, the center of Tropical Storm Beryl was located near latitude 26.8 North, longitude 95.5 West. Beryl is moving toward the north-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). This general motion is expected to continue through tonight, with a turn toward the north forecast on Monday. On the forecast track, thecenter of Beryl is expected to make landfall on the middle Texas coast early Monday. Beryl has picked up slightly with 65mph maximum sustained winds. Current predictions for Orange County are winds of 20-25 with gusts of 35mph. Probably 2-4 inches of rain with as much as 8 inches possible in certain areas. And a slight risk of tornados, according to the National Weather Service.
