Champ To Get A Rematch
On July 6, professional boxer Shock Foster of Orange lost a controversial split decision to Robson Conceicao in a title bout in New Jersey. WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said that the WBC board of governors has ruled that the two super featherweights should have a direct rematch. A date for the rematch was not announced. Judges Paul Wallace and Anthony Lundy scored the fight 115-113 and 116-112 in favor of Conceicao, respectively, while judge Ron McNair scored 116-112 for Foster. Weekly Fishing Report Week of July 17, 2024. Sam RayburnGOOD. Water stained; 83 degrees; 4.27 feet above pool. The bite for all species seems to improve when the water is being generated. This stirs the water, breaking up the thermocline. Bass are slow in shallow water with many smaller fish being caught on frogs, and spinnerbaits. Deeper bass bite is fair with Carolina rigs. Crappie are slow in the morning, but improve midday. Catfish are all over the lake in 20 feet of water and in 12 feet of water in the creek channels. Early Sunday morning at approximately 3:30am authorities were called to the Service Road near the IH-10 and Hwy. 62 intersection for an auto/pedestrian accident. A man riding a bicycle was struck by a white dually pickup truck traveling eastbound. The driver of the truck stopped and cooperated with police while the man on the bike was taken to a Beaumont hospital in serious condition.
