Dupree Starts Career Strong
Jared Dupree of Orange was recently named Rookie of the Year by the Houston Police Department. Dupree works the evening shift in District 19 and is the top producer in felony/misdemeanor arrests, traffic stops, calls for service, and incident reports completed each month. The WOS grad was also recognized for a situation in 2023 where he responded to a shooting. He ran towards the gunfire, grabbed the victim and brought her away from harm so he could provide medical aid. He then carried her to safety. Officers Pull Woman From Water
A woman was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after two officers from the West Orange Police Dept. performed CPR on her following an accident. Witnesses say a woman was driving northbound on Hwy. 87 in a silver Dodge Charger when, according to two young girls on the scene, she had a seizure, causing her to drive across traffic and into a pond near the Edgar Brown Dr. overpass. The most unique fishing tournament in the area will be taking place Saturday, August 3 as the 36th Annual OCARC Fishing Tournament gives anglers of all ages a chance to win cash and great prizes.
