Company Fined For Accident
Zachry Industrial has been issued fines totalling $32,262 for a fatal accident that happened in February of this year. The fines were issued by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). There were two penalties, $16,131 each. The accident happened on Feb. 16 at the site of the new Golden Triangle Polymers plant on Hwy. 87 near the Orange County Airport. Yukiko Nakao, 29, of Port Arthur, was struck and killed by someone operating a skid steer loader. LSCO Duo Finishes Third
LSCO Fishing Team members Holden Hatcher and JD Sewell qualified for the MLF National Championship after a third place finish on the St. Lawrence River in New York. In the one day tournament the duo bagged five fish for 21-10 pounds. A team from the University of Alabama won with a total of 25-1. Full results With their finish Hatcher/Sewell qualify for the MLF National Championship at Alabama's Lake Wheeler in April.
