Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on July 1, 2003, he was the son of William Grubbs and Anita Hunter Grubbs. The Boston Red Sox Sunday recalled right-handed pitcher Chase Shugart from Triple-A Worcester. He was inserted into Sunday's game against Detroit, throwing two hitless innings with two strikeouts. Shugart, 27, made his Major League debut on August 15 against the Baltimore Orioles, recording two strikeouts over 2.2 innings. The right-hander has also pitched in 32 games, five starts, with Worcester this season, going 5-2 with one save, a 4.55 ERA (33 ER/65.1 IP), and 77 strikeouts. Man Dies After Altercation
Saturday around 6:40pm the Orange County Sheriff's Department was called to a home at 12823 FM 105 near the 105/FM1442 intersection in Orangefield. The original call was for a man who was unconscious. Officers arrived and found a deceased white male, identified as Kevin Adam Swarers, a 45 year old man from Orange. Bobcats Fall to Woodville
The new look Bobcats made their 2024 debut Friday night against a familiar foe, the Woodville Eagles, but it was the Eagles that came away with a 27-7 victory. Orangefield and Woodville spent the first quarter testing each other and trying to get a handle on the ball, literally, as each team fumbled early in the first quarter and five times total in the first half.
