Man Shot and Killed In Orangefield
On Wednesday, September 4th at approximately 8:01am, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call to dispatch regarding a male subject, who has a history of mental health issues, making threats towards neighbors. At 8:20am the Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived on scene. The Deputy began speaking with the subject and a violent confrontation ensued. The Deputy discharged his firearm after being assaulted by the subject. The Deputy has been transported by ambulance to be treated for multiple injuries. He was surrounded by family and friends at his home in Lincoln City, OR. He was 74 years of age. Jim was born in Orange, TX on March 20, 1950 to Leon and Lola Bingham.
