Vernus M. Adams, 78, of Mauriceville, passed away on December 12, at her home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, December 16, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Delphyn Meeks, of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Mauriceville. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City. Second year Coach Randy Ragsdale sees improvement in this season’s edition of the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs. Coach Ragsdale is expecting good things from his starting five at West Orange-Stark. Ragsdale says he starts with Eriel Jordan who is an outstanding young lady and a great ball player. She can work inside and she can work outside. Fortunes may be looking up for the Bridge Cardinals basketball team. Coach Tony Knight looks at some of the players returning to the varsity for Bridge City. Gradon Glover and Conner Wilbur are both good all-around athletes competing excellently in cross-country. Knight says Grover and Wilbur combined for 27 points in the Cardinals’ season opening victory which gets the Cardinals on the right track helping them to get a playoff banner. Lady Bears Have New Coach
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears got a taste of the post season last year and they are hungry for more. Joining the Lady Bears on the bench is first year Head Coach Linda Riddick. She has a good group of young ladies back from last season’s playoff team.
