Patsy Ann Cook, 79, of Orange, passed away on February 13, 2015, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Funeral services will be 3:00p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2015, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be her nephew, Reverend Tim Ennis of Pursuit Church in Houston. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. Eleven West Orange – Stark High School choir students competed in Solo & Ensemble competition at Lumberton High School recently. All 11 committed to memory a Class I solo from the UIL Prescribed Music List. Students sang in English, Spanish, and Italian. Several Orangefield High School band students participated in the UIL Solo & Ensemble contest Friday evening at Lumberton High School. Students who perform a solo, play a piece of music with a piano accompanist, and are rated by a judge. The Superior rating is the highest you may receive, and earns a UIL Medal. Students play solos of different class levels of difficulty, with the Class 1 solo being the most difficult. LCM's Andrew Daspit goes up in traffic to make a bucket Friday as the Bears beat WOS 48-36 and sweep the season series. The Bears led by as much as 18 points in the second half before the Mustangs got hot and cut the lead to 10 with 5:30 to play. But that's as close as they could get.
