William "WH" Henry Hutson, 70, of Hartburg passed away on Monday, June 29, 2015 at his residence. William was born on May 23, 19452 in Orange, Texas to parents Essie (Mathews) and Grover Lester Huston. He was a lifelong resident of Orange and Hartburg area; he served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in construction and a security guard in the later years. On Tuesday, June 30, 2015, around 9:15 a.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call in reference to a theft in progress. The caller was an employee of the Mauriceville Utility District and reported that he was following a truck pulling a stolen trailer and generator from a Mauriceville Utility District well site off FM 2802 in Mauriceville, Orange County, Texas. On Monday, June 29, 2015, around 11:40 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a truck that was stolen from the Crawdad’s convenient store parking lot on North Highway 62 in Mauriceville, Orange County, Texas. The caller stated that when they saw the truck driving off, they got into another vehicle and followed. The stolen truck was a white 2006 GMC. Commissioners Meet
The Commissioners Court approved Monday the county implementing a Texas law to encourage citizens to pay fines and fees they owe the county. County Judge Brint Carlton told the reason for approving the Texas Scofflaw Program for Orange County is to give citizens another incentive to pay fines or fees they owe. Carlton explains that under the new program the Tax Office can reject the renewal of a vehicle registration for customers who have outstanding fines or fees they owe the county.
