Schools in the Little Cypress-Mauriceville School District are getting facelifts this summer as part of a $56 million bond project. Assistant Superintendent Greg Perry said work started as soon as classes were released for the summer. Perry reminded that the heavy rains in the early summer caused delays to construction, but work has progressed on all the school campuses.   Rural businesses were targets of burglars during the first week of July, according to complaints made to the Orange County Sheriff's Office. KOGT previously reported break-ins at The Swim Club on FM 105 in Orangefield and Synical Designs Custom Body on Highway 87 in Little Cypress. Both were hit sometime in the night of Wednesday July 1 or early morning of Thursday July 2. Also during that time, Texas Outlaw Fireworks on Highway 12 in Mauriceville had a burglary. The City of Orange is taking the lead to spend about $40,000 to hire a healthcare consultant firm to survey the medical needs of the county so statistics are available to attract someone to build a new hospital. The Orange City Council will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday with the agenda including a resolution to spend money for the survey and a staffing model. The resolution lists the "scope of the project" as an acute care facility with between 15 and 40 inpatient beds and six to 10 beds in an emergency room. Other county entities will be involved.   State game wardens will not file criminal charges against Kent Robnett, the Orange man who killed the 11-and-a-half foot alligator that killed a man on July 3. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Thursday issued a press release saying the game wardens tracked the man and gave him a warning citation for the illegal catch of the alligator.  Colonel Craig Hunter, law enforcement director for Texas Parks and Wildlife, said the alligator would have had to been killed because of its aggressive behavior. Funds from bonds have come in for Bridge City to start up to 12 civic projects. City Manager Jerry Jones said about $2.5 million will be kept in the bank for future use while the other million dollars will be used to pay for projects that are already underway. Topping the list of projects is installing filters in the Bridge City water system, and Jones said that project is ready to get started. Jones informed that Tuesday he received the final cost on the project which is $1.2 million for filters in all three locations and the entire project.
