Burglars hit A-1 Plumbing Co. on Border Street Friday night and stole a pick-up truck and tools worth a total of $36,000. The owner of the business called Orange police Saturday morning after discovering that the gated parking lot was unsecured. She noticed that a number of items, including the truck, were missing. Mildred Delores Paul was born December 8, 1935 in Tyler, Texas to Chester A. Mark, Sr. and Beatrice J. Mark. Orange became her home after graduating from Prairie View A&M College in 1955, becoming a teacher at Wallace High School. Arson suspects arrested
Orange police have arrested three girls, ages 12, 13, and 14, for arson in connection with four fires, including two historic houses that were destroyed. A smaller house was set on fire twice. The houses were vacant. Detective Captain Cliff Hargrave said a juvenile boy is also being sought. Their names will not be made public because of juvenile laws. He said charges of arson, a second degree felony, will be filed on the juveniles through the Orange County Juvenile Probation Department and the Orange County District Attorney's Office. The Orangefield Bobcat athletic department will host three parent orientation meetings on July 16th, 23rd, and 30th in the high school cafeteria at 6:00pm. Parents of athletes from 7th-12th grade are encouraged to attend one of the meetings. The Athletic Handbook and other athletic information will be discussed. Lt. Harry Ray was born in Monroe, LA in 1925 and passed away in Converse, TX on July 8, 2015. He was raised, with his sister Lorraine, by an assiduous, caring, and devout mother, Wanda Ray. He wanted to fight in WW2 and in 1942 persuaded his mother to sign for him to enlist in the Navy as a minor. He served in the Mediterranean on a prison ship, and subsequently a destroyer.
