WO-S High School Band Camp will begin July 27 West Orange – Stark High School Band Camp will begin Monday, July 27 at 7 a.m. All eighth grade through twelfth grade members of WO-S bands should report to the High School Band Hall for the event. The camp will run from July 27 until August 7. Restaurant Inspections
Restaurants and food service businesses scored mostly high during health inspections during the first part of July. Only two of the 19 businesses inspected received a perfect score, but 12 of the 19 rated in the 90s. Violations leading to demerits included flies, gnats, spider webs and mold in drink dispensers. Texas Country Store at 16th Street and Interstate 10 had the lowest score with a 79. The store had no major violations but a number of infractions including general cleaning. Accident Friday
A Dodge Charger had major damage in an accident Friday afternoon about 2:30 on North 16th Street at Interstate 10. Orange police said the Charger collided with a lowboy trailer full of lawn equipment after the pickup truck pulling the trailer turned in front of her. Attendants with Acadian Ambulance Service checked the woman but she did not go to a hospital. Just about one month to the day Bridge City is following through on a promise made to a couple that spoke to the City Council. On June 16 Bob and Marie Bonnin told the City Council that the property next to their home in the 2300 block of Beverly had head-high weeds and a dilapidated structure that needed to be torn down.
