Accident on Hwy. 62
A Ford pickup truck hit the driver's side of a Toyota Camry on Highway 62 South by the Pilot Truck Stop Wednesday morning. The Texas Department of Public Safety reports that although the Toyota had significant damage, no one was injured in either vehicle. DPS said the Camry and the pickup truck were traveling southbound on Highway 62. The Camry, driven by 86-year-old Curley Dabineaux of Orange, was in the outside lane. WO Landlord Ordinances
West Orange has passed two ordinances in the last year regarding rental properties in the city. Ordinance 230H transferred the billing for garbage collection from the renter’s name to the landlord’s name. Code Enforcement Officer Dean Fuller says the city checked county records to find properties that did not have homestead exemptions and then mailed about 550 letters to potential landlords of those properties. Upon checking it was determined there are about 200 to 300 rental properties in West Orange. King Shot and Killed Wednesday Morning
UPDATE: 7-22-2015 @ 4:15 p.m. The identity of the man who was shot in the leg is 37 year old Daryl King of Orange, Texas. The gunshot caused extensive damage to King’s leg. King eventually succumbed to the injury and died. The autopsy is scheduled on Thursday morning, July 23, 2015.
