An Orange convicted felon has been sentenced to federal prison for a firearms violation in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs. Terryence John Nelson, 40, pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and was sentenced to 46 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on September 12, 2024. Home Burns But Children Saved
On Sept. 10 at around 1:53am, OCESD #1 were dispatched to a home on fire in Vidor. Firefighters were told there were two children trapped inside the burning home. Firefighters arrived and learned that Vidor PD had already arrived on scene and helped get the children out. Officer Michael Stephenson began to push and pull on a window air conditioning unit that was in the exterior window of the room the children were located. Officer Stephenson was able to dislodge the Window A/C unit to gain access to the room and children.
