Gisela Houseman, distinguished business woman and philanthropist, donated $50,000 to Lamar State College-Orange for the Tony Houseman Memorial Scholarship. Saturday Volleyball
The Deweyville Lady Pirates volleyball team finished as consolation champions after falling in the first round to the tournament champions, Beaumont Ozen. They came back and won consolation on Saturday, August 22nd by defeating West Hardin 25-20, 22-25, 25-17, Beaumont Kelly 19-25, 25-20, 25-16, and Silsbee 25-20, 28-26. Stats for all 3 matches combined had Shaylin Dupuy with 83 assists and 7 aces, Kennidee Willis had 64 kills, 44 digs, and 11 aces, Gabby Dupuy had 37 digs.
