ESD #4 Has New Fire Chief
The board of the Orange County Emergency Services District No. 4 has named James Journeay as interim fire chief after demoting the previous chief. The ESD No. 4 serves the Mauriceville and McLewis communities. Board President Spencer Fuss said the two communities once had two separate fire departments. A Vidor man is dead after being struck by a car Saturday night in Cedar Park near Austin. The Cedar Park Emergency Communications Division received calls of an injury at the 1100 block of North Bell Boulevard at 11:06 p.m. Saturday night. According to KXAN when officers arrived on scene they found William Clarence Gifford, 37, of Vidor, as well as a 2009 Dodge Caravan and its driver. That remains as one of the famous school pranks through the years in Orange County.
