Donald Gene Miller, 88, passed away on September 12, 2024, at his home in Orange, Texas. Born in Nocona, Texas, on February 27, 1936, he was the son of Robert "Bob" Anthen Miller and Elva B Davis. Following his parents' divorce, Don experienced a unique childhood, alternating school years between his mother in Baytown, TX, and his father in Oklahoma. Weekly Fishing Report Week of September 18, 2024 Sam RayburnFAIR. Water slightly stained; 82 degrees; 0.35 feet below pool. There continues to be a shallow and a deep bass bite with some schooling action. Bass are fair in shallow water over grass with topwaters, or on secondary points Carolina rigs and dropshots. Crappie are fair on 15-27 feet on brush piles with minnows over jigs. As the weather cools crappie will transition up the river on stumps. Update: As of 12:30pm the bridge was open. Just eight days after the East Roundbunch Swing Bridge reopened because of mechanical issues, it broke down again Wednesday afternoon, leaving traffic backed up almost to FM 1006 as people tried to turn around on the two lane road.
