Orange police early Thursday morning arrested a naked man yelling at vehicles while standing in the middle of 16th Street. Police reported the incident was at 1:13 a.m. in the 2400 block of 16th Street by the HEB and CVS stores. When police arrived, the man got to the ground and started doing push-ups. 41-year-old Chad Eugene Shields of Orange was arrested for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and taken to the Orange County Jail. City Improvements
City projects are moving forward in both Bridge City and Pinehurst. A splash pad is being constructed between the pavilion and the library off of Roundbunch Road in Bridge City. The concrete pad has been laid and the water works have been erected at the splash pad. City Manager Jerry Jones says the company installing the water works still needs to do some work to make the splash pad operational. Jones adds that there will be some landscaping work done around the splash pad when it is completed. Saturday's TRE Results: 185 FOR vs. 73 Against Saturday is the tax ratification election in the Orangefield School District. Early voting concluded Tuesday for the election. As of Tuesday afternoon 114 votes had been cast. Mustangs Hosts Eagles on KOGT
Their pride was hurt for the West Orange-Stark Mustangs last week with the loss to Richmond Foster, but fortunately there were no serious injuries. The Mustangs will be without the services of Keion Hancock for another three weeks with a hairline fracture of the collarbone injured in the Silsbee game. A burglar made off with $1,000 worth of meat at JB's Barbecue Monday night. Proprietor Gerard Arrington called police at 9 a.m. Tuesday after discovering that a door on the far side of the smoke house had been opened. Orange Patrol Officer Justin Kirkpatrick reported the door frame had been broken. Three cases of brisket, two cases of link sausages and a case of turkey had been stolen. Bobcats vs Worthing For Homecoming
For the second year in a row the Orangefield Bobcats beat the Newton Eagles. As good as that victory felt the Bobcats cannot rest on their laurels because this week they play the Houston Worthing Colts who are 4-1 on the season. Coach Josh Smalley says the Colts have one of the outstanding quarterbacks in the state of Texas. Smalley indicates Worthing runs the Spread with Alfred Robertson at the controls.
