Orange Man Indicted For Drug Trafficking
A 59-year-old Orange man has been indicted on federal drug trafficking charges in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales in a press release after a raid at his home at 1412 Hart Street. Grover Lee Roberts was indicted on Oct. 7, 2015 and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Roberts was arrested in Orange Friday on those charges. According to the indictment, since 2008, Roberts conspired with others to distribute more than 28 grams of crack cocaine from his residence on South Hart Avenue in Orange. St. Mary’s Receives Rosaries
St. Mary Catholic School received 60 homemade rosaries from Mabel Landry who is 90 years old from Jennings, Louisiana. Mrs. Landry received word that St. Mary Catholic School held a children’s rosary which is led by children only every Friday morning before school. This rosary is guided by Dayle Gunn Weatherford. Each student leads a decade of the rosary and the following prayers. Mrs. Landry was honored to hear that the school was teaching the students the process and meaning of saying the rosary and began working hard on making them. Dennis Earl Grimsley, 56, of Starks, Louisiana passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur. This hasn't been a good week for workers at the Invista plant on FM 1006. Three people in the plant's parking lot had windows broken in their cars and items stolen sometimes Tuesday night. The break-ins were reported to Orange police at 5 a.m. Wednesday. On Monday, Invista's management announced that at least 75 employees at the plant will be laid off because a unit will be permanently closed. The thief breaking into the vehicles smashed the driver's side windows on three vehicles, which were owned by men who live in Bridge City, Orange and Groves.
