The Bridge City Middle School Red teams hosted Little Cypress Tuesday night. The 8th grade Red team won 28-0 pitching their 5th shutout of the year. Jackson Tims opened the scoring with a 60 yard punt return for a touchdown. Andy Lara added two touchdown runs of 5 and 7 yards. Shots Fired In Roselawn
Two home invaders who were beating up a man inside his house in Roselawn were scared away when the victim got a gun and fired it into the ceiling. Orange police were called to 314 Bridal Wreath at 12:41 p.m. because of gunshots fired. Detective Captain Cliff Hargrave said the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment but was not seriously hurt. The two invaders drove up to the house in a car and went inside. Commissioners Meet
The Commissioners Court approved the purchase of a new chip spreader for the Road and Bridge Department Tuesday. Commissioner Jody Crump questioned County Engineer Clark Slacum if his department’s current chip spreader which is 13 years old could make it another year. Slacum replied that the current machine has several parts that are old, patched together, and susceptible to breaking down which can stop any road resurfacing that is being done. A pivotal district game will be played this Friday night at Pirate Stadium in Deweyville. Coach Lance Dale says the Garrison Bulldogs run a multiple offense that his Pirates must slow down. Dale indicates the Bulldogs like to use a Double Slot Offense with one back out of which they run counters, wing back traps, tosses, and they will throw the football.
