Deweyville's volleyball season came to a close Saturday in the Area round of the playoffs against Central Heights. Deweyville lost by a score of 28-30, 25-20, 25-21, 8-25, 15-17. Vigil for Ava and LaMya
More than 300 people attended a candlelight vigil Friday night to pray and pay tribute to 25-year-old Ava Nicole Lewis and her daughter, 6-year-old LaMya Newhouse. They were killed Monday night by a hit-and-run driver on MacArthur Drive. Donations to help the family send the victims to their hometown of Sacramento, California, may be sent to Colonial Funeral Home on 10th street in Orange.
