Shugart Named Top Reliever
The Boston Red Sox announced the winners of the organization’s 2024 Minor League Awards and Chase Shugart is the Relief Pitcher of the Year. Shugart, 27, has made five appearances for the Red Sox in 2024, his Major League debut, posting a 4.70 ERA (4 ER/7.2 IP) with one save. The right-hander also went 6-2 with a 4.46 ERA (35 ER/70.2 IP) and 80 strikeouts in 36 games (five starts) with Triple-A Worcester.
