Orange police investigated two accidents Thursday morning when thick fog blanketed the area. Another collision happened in the evening during busy 16th Street traffic. No serious injuries were reported in any of the crashes. About 7 a.m., police went to the 8000 block of Highway 62 at Blacksher Crossing after a Lexus ran off the road, across and ditch and ended in a heavy brush line. Officer M.T. Santa Claus is making a lot of friends these days on MacArthur Drive next to a trailer loaded with fresh sweet potatoes. He smiles and waves at cars that pass by. Tarver Returns To SO
Orange County Sheriff Keith Merritt plans to make some personnel changes within his department in January. Merritt said he has asked John Tarver a former chief deputy under two previous sheriffs to return to the Sheriff’s Office in that capacity. Merritt indicated he had wanted Tarver on the Sheriff’s Office staff for quite a while, but circumstances had never worked out. Two Arrested After Bust
On Wednesday, December 9th, 2015 at 2:00PM, a search warrant was executed at 3520 Ridgemont Dr. in Orange. The warrant was from a combined investigation between the Orange Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. Officers seized approximately one ounce of crack cocaine, 9 grams of methamphetamine, two firearms, and approximately $2000 in cash.
