On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at approximately 5:10 A.M., officers with the City of Orange Police Department responded to a reported robbery at a convenience store located at 333 East Lutcher Drive. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the store clerk, who stated that a heavyset black male entered the store carrying a long object wrapped in black plastic. New Paddling Trails At TBend
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) will launch a new series of paddling trails at Toledo Bend Reservoir in East Texas, recently designated the official Bass Fishing Capital of Texas. The Lost Frontier Reach, Mid Lake Run, Palo Gaucho and Six Mile Paddling trails increase the number of trails at Toledo Bend to five. They add 30 more miles of paddling opportunities and join a lineup of more than 80 paddling trails throughout the state of Texas. Man Arrested For Robbery After Assaulting Woman
On August 23rd, 2025, at approximately 5 p.m., two Jasper County Sheriff Deputies responded to County Road 819 in reference to a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the Little League ballpark in Buna. During the investigation, it was learned that Kenneth Phelps, 21, of Vidor, assaulted the mother of his child while stealing her cell phone causing pain and injury.
