Auto-Pedestrian Accident
At approximately 6:00pm Thursday, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of an auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate 10 near Adams Bayou. A 2006 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 in the inside lane. A pedestrian was attempting to cross the Interstate and was struck by the pickup truck. The pedestrian, Amanda Brown (18) of Conroe, Texas, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries. Group Still Hoping For Hospital
Hospital prospects Back in July the City of Pinehurst joined with other local entities to study the medical needs of Orange County with the hope of getting a new hospital built in the county. Pinehurst City Administrator Robbie Hood said the $40,000 study is still moving forward and has identified two possible locations for a new hospital to be located in the county. Hood indicated the two sites recommended through the study are an unincorporated area of FM 1442 at Interstate 10 and a second possibility of State Highway 62 at Interstate 10 which would be in the City of Orange. Intoxicated Man Tazed By Police
Orange police used a Taser shock gun early Tuesday morning on a naked man who was intoxicated on a substance. The man now faces misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and evading arrest. Officer J.L. Goins reported police were called about 1:30 a.m. to Morrell and Third streets in the Navy Park addition because of a naked man standing in the street and screaming.
