The Sabine River at Deweyville Tuesday morning went down slight amount to 24.9 feet, with flood level at 24 feet. The National Weather Service says the river could go down slightly more by Wednesday. But the change may not last long. The Sabine River Authority on Monday twice increased the amount of water being released upstream at Toledo Bend Reservoir. Orange County Health Inspector James Scales gave three perfect scores, two to day care centers, during December. The lowest score of his 12 inspections was an 85 and went to the McDonald's on Texas Avenue in Bridge City. The perfect scores went to Smoothie King on Edgar Brown Drive in West Orange, Kircle K Kiddie Ranch on Highway 62 in Orange, and Just for Kids Daycare on East Roundbunch Road in Bridge City. Orange Police Weekend Briefs
A man-woman team made off with 12 bottles of designer-label men's colognes worth $785 from Walgreen's late Christmas Eve afternoon. The theft was one of several thefts reported to Orange police during the long holiday weekend. Officer Logan Holland reported the cologne shoplifting happened about 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the 16th Street store. The man broke the locked case holding the colognes and grabbed 12 bottles. He went and put them into the woman's purse and they left. The brand names included Versace, Polo and Gucci. Two accidents over the Weekend
A motorcyclist was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont Sunday afternoon after he slid the cycle on its side. Orange Patrol Officer Logan Holland said the driver could not remember what happened. However, police found a tree branch under the motorcycle. The accident was about 4 p.m. in the 1100 block of Main Street. The driver was 28-year-old Aaron Cole of Orange.
