Burglaries in Wynona Park
The person in this photo is a suspect in two burglaries of a vehicle in the Wynona Park addition near the Hwy.87 and Hwy. 105 intersection. The crimes occurred early Sunday, Jan. 3. He is believed to be a white male, 18-25 years of age, and driving an older model white car with a sunroof. He was wearing jeans, and a long sleeve plaid shirt. Orange Police Weekend Reports
Orange police are investigating the armed robbery of the Star Stop on 16th Street Sunday night and the attempted robbery of an Interstate 10 motel early Sunday morning. Officer J.L. Goins reported a gunman stole cash from the gas station and convenience store at 1402 16th Street. The robbery was reported at 10:25 Sunday night. At 5:48 Sunday morning, the desk clerk at the Orange Inn and Suites called 9-1-1 to report an attempted robbery. Residents Still Waiting On Quiet Zone
Five years ago, a group of residents in the Old Orange Historic District petitioned the City of Orange to implement a railroad quiet zone. A quiet zone would prohibit passing trains from blowing horns at every crossing. City of Orange officials and the city council agreed with the request. The city received a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation to help pay to close and barricade some of the street crossings. Five streets have been barricaded at the railroad tracks to eliminate vehicular crossings.
