A lawyer who lives in the Old Orange Historic District is asking a state judge to stop the city of Orange from buying the First Financial Bank on 16th Street. The petition filed in the Orange District Clerk's Office says the city's plan to move city hall violates the City Charter and Comprehensive Master Land Use Plan. 260th State Judge Buddie Hahn has set a hearing on Tuesday. On January 28, 2016 at 4:45 pm. Detective’s with the City of Orange Police Department served an arrest warrant on 51 year old Charles Calverley. Calverley is one of two suspects in the January 25, 2016, Palais Royal burglary. With cooperation from citizens, detectives were able to gather information and obtain an arrest warrant for Calverley. The City of Orange is pleased to report a positive response from the Greyhound Bus Company that it will be returning bus service to the Orange area. Jay Trahan the Director of Economic Development for Orange says that on behalf of Councilmember Essie Bellfield the city staff communicated with Greyhound several months ago to consider bringing bus transportation back to Orange.
