Orangefield ISD was awarded a $15,298 cash incentive from the Entergy Texas SCORE Program for lighting upgrades. The SCORE Program helps organizations save energy and money by providing no-cost facility improvement recommendations and financial incentives based on energy savings. Orangefield ISD was able to streamline their LED lighting upgrade by partnering with Graybar Electric, an enrolled participating contractor in the Entergy Solutions Program. Amigo Arrested
The Two Amigos Mexican Restaurant on 16th Street was struck by a burglar early Monday morning. It was the fourth break-in at the restaurant in a week, but later in the morning Orange Police arrested a 47-year-old man in connection with the burglaries. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said Kevin Wayne Bradshaw is in the Orange County Jail and has given officers a statement concerning the break-ins at the restaurant on 16th Street at Interstate 10. River Gates Closed
The Sabine River Authority closed all the gates at Toledo Bend Reservoir Monday afternoon following weeks of water releases because of high water. The dam now has one generator operating 24 hours a day for a release of 6,994 cubic feet of water per second. One generator is down for repairs. The lake level is down to 172.1 feet. The reservoir is considered full at 172 feet. The river authority for the past two weeks has been decreasing the water releases. On Friday, the releases were down to five gates open at one foot each.
