Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2016, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be Pastor Daniel Rose, pastor of Community Church in Orange. Bobcat Girls Win At LCM
The Orangefield Lady Bobcats competed at the LC-M powerlifting meet on Thursday and came home with the 1st place team trophy. Placing 1st was Brooke Morphew (148’s) with 734 lbs., Skylar Hamons (165’s) with 675 lbs. 2nd place lifters were Krista Wheeler, Bailey Cady, Madison Taylor, and Kaitlin Gordon. Other lifters placing were Britton Edgerly, Kayla Gordon, and Julia Droll. The Bobcat Powerlifting team also competed at the LCM powerlifting meet on Thursday. Hillbenders Visit OHS
A contemporary bluegrass band, the Hillbenders, visited the Orangefield High School band and choir students on Tuesday, February 2. The Hillbenders traveled to Orange to perform at the Lutcher Theater, but also treated OHS students to a glimpse at their music and life as a musician. “It was an interesting cultural experience. Arrest Made In Robbery
Orange police Wednesday afternoon arrested 17-year-old Deondre Rayon of Orange for aggravated robbery in connection with a hold-up at a convenience store hours in the early morning. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said information from citizens helped lead investigators to get the arrest warrant. The Country Store off Interstate 10 at Highway 62 was robbed by three men, one armed with a pistol and another with a knife, about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.
