Businessman David Meaux Tuesday morning asked Orange City Council to put the city's nativity scene on a meeting agenda and have a public vote to keep the Christian symbol at city hall. The Orange County Commissioners Court will change venues for the second time in two years next week. Tuesday the Court approved holding its meeting next Tuesday at the Vidor City Hall instead of the Commissioners Courtroom in the Administration Building of the Courthouse in Orange. West Orange Calls Election
The City of West Orange will hold its municipal election May 7 in a joint election with the West Orange-Cove School District. Both polling locations will be in the West Orange Community Center on Austin Street. The City Council approved calling the election during its meeting Monday evening. The aldermen positions of Mike Shugart, Shirley Bonnin, and Dale Dardeau will be on the at-large ballot in May. All three have filed for re-election.
