Orangefield Lady Bobcats competed at the Silsbee Iron Powerlifting Meet on Thursday and came home with a 1st place team trophy. Placing 1st in their weight class were: Madison Taylor (555 lbs.), Krista Wheeler (565 lbs.), Brooke Morphew (720 lbs.), and Skylar Hamons (710 lbs.). A house was destroyed by fire Friday night in Mauriceville but the family was not home at the time. Firefighters from the Orange County Emergency Services District No. 4 went to the 4300 block of Woodland Drive at 11 p.m. When they arrived the house was fully engulfed. The WOS Mustangs took possession of fourth place with one game to play Friday as they defeated the LCM Bears on KOGT 60-45. WOS took a 19-17 lead at the half thanks to a 3 point shot at the buzzer by Brettlin Wiley. The third quarter was where things started to fall apart for the Bears as they were outscored 13-4.
