Other Lady Bears were Kacie Nichols (103), Theresa Beckett (99), Jessica McLain (115), and Marlee Bird (134). The team took second place overall with a total of 389. The Kiwanis Club of Orange, recently joined forces with Spanky’s Bar and Grill to treat CASA teenagers to dinner and a movie. Mickey Hughes, 72 of Mauriceville, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas after a short illness. Mickey is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat Hughes of Mauriceville, TX. He is also survived by his two sons; Paul Hughes and Mark Hughes both of Mauriceville, TX. The Bobcats competed in the Trinity Valley Relays (Liberty) on Friday. This Lady Cardinals cleaned up well off and on the softball field this weekend. The Cardinals went 5-0 at the Ft. Bend Christian Academy tournament defeating St. John's, Houston Christian, Lamar High School, John Cooper, and Ft. Bend Christian. The team hit eight doubles, two triples, four home runs, and out scored their opponents 41-3. The Lady Cardinals pitching staff did a tremendous job only allowing three runs in five games while Kassidy Wilbur went 3-0 on the mound with two shut outs and one no hitter.
