Patricia Ann “Patty” Mier, of Orange, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, at the age of 67. Patty was born on February 6, 1949 in Liberty, Texas to parents Melba (Cain) and Philip Frazier Payne. She had lived in the Orange area for 16 years, prior in Abbeville, Louisiana, and was a member of the Pocket Full Gospel Community Church. Group Appealing Judges Decision
The group suing the city of Orange to stop the move of city hall from the historic downtown area has filed to appeal a state district judge's decision to deny a temporary injunction. Lady Bear Senior Lauren Cox shot a 75 (+2) in blustery conditions to take 1st Place at the LCM Lady Bear Tournament at Sunset Grove Country Club on March 7th. The Lady Bears team consisting of Kacie Nichols (104), Theresa Beckett (103), Jessica McLain (111), and Marlee Bird (137) shot 393 to take 2nd place.
