City Can Purchase Bank
A state district judge has denied a temporary injunction to stop the city of Orange from buying a bank building on 16th Street and moving city hall to the commercial strip. 260th District Judge Buddie Hahn Monday morning ruled the city of Orange's comprehension master plan is a suggestion and not a law; so the city can legally move city hall away from the Old Town Center. OC Health Inspections
Orange County Health Inspector James Scales went to schools in February and was handing out good grades. He gave perfect scores to the cafeterias and 12 schools during the last part of February. During that period, he made 25 inspections with 13 scores of 100. Overall, the food service businesses and restaurants fared well. The lowest score was an 83 and went to JJ Wings and Seafood on MacArthur Drive in Pinehurst. The only business with a perfect score was the Valero Corner Store, 7253 Interstate 10 East in Orange. Granger Chevrolet hosted the Three Rivers Boy Scouts Pinewood Derby Saturday which was sponsored by Cub Scout Pack 311. Over 50 Cub Scouts in four age brackets competed in racing their cars made by them and their parents. The Grand Champion was Reece Smith from Cub Scouts Pack 1.
