Rollover On MacArthur
A teenager avoided injury Monday evening when the car he was driving on MacArthur Drive flipped over several times. Orange police report the 17-year-old boy was driving a Ford Fusion westbound in the inside lane when he lost control of the car about 6:50 p.m. The Fusion left the roadway in the 2300 block of MacArthur and flipped. Police Arrest Bell
Orange police Tuesday morning arrested 29-year-old Hassan Kent Bell for robbery in connection with a theft and assault at a 16th Street convenience store Saturday afternoon. In an affidavit of probable cause, police said a man stealing a bottle of beer from the store punched the store clerk in the face several times. Detective Sergeant C.J. Foreman said in the affidavit the robbery was at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Shell store, 1402 16th Street. House Fire in Roselawn
Two houses were damaged by fires Saturday in Orange. The Orange Fire Department went to 301 Camellia Drive in Roselawn at 12:30 p.m. after a 9-1-1 call. Firefighters saw flames and heavy smoke coming from one side of the one-story house when they arrived. They had the fire under control within 10 minutes and crews stayed on the scene for two and a half hours. The department reports the fire started in the hallway and spread up the attic. Orange police arrested 45-year-old identical twin brothers passed out in a car with the engine running on Highway 87 Saturday afternoon. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and the passenger was arrested for public intoxication. Police report they received a 9-1-1 call at 1:04 p.m. about a possible driver being intoxicated and traveling northbound near North Orange Baptist Church.
