Business Burns On Tuesday
As people were getting off of work Tuesday in Vidor, a large black ball of smoke could be seen for miles just north off I-10 near Main Street. C&R Transmission, located at 135 Garland Street, was on fire. When firefighters from OCESD #1 arrived flames and smoke were coming from the roof of the building. Chief Robert Smith said the fire was aided by the amount of combustible fluids inside because of it being a transmission shop. The building and several vehicles suffered serious damage. The Orange County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance from the community in locating a missing person. According to family members, shortly after her release from Jefferson County Jail, 56-year-old Brenda Kay Gibson was last seen sometime in April, 2023,possibly at the Burger King off Twin City Highway in Port Arthur. Ms Gibson's family became concerned when she missed her brother's funeral a couple weeks ago. Ms. Gibson is possibly homeless.
