LCM Offers Vaccinations
Little Cypress-Mauriceville secondary campuses will have a vaccination clinic available on Friday, April 29, for students who will need immunizations for the upcoming school year. There are required vaccinations for different grade levels. Seniors have to have the meningitis vaccine before enrolling in college. Ring Ceremony at TLU
This past Friday Texas Lutheran University had their ring ceremony and barbecue for the football team. Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs are the D-3 SCAC Champions three years in a row. Tyler Howlett was SCAC Academic All Conference for the third year and made 1st Team Offensive Lineman for 2015. Casey Viator, a DB, got to see action in nine games this season, and Coleton Boudreaux appeared in one game. All three had outstanding high school careers at Little Cypress-Mauriceville. Former Councilman Passes/EDC Meets
Former Orange City Council member Jeff Holland was found dead Saturday at his home in Houston. Holland, who was an engineer, also worked as the general manager for the Mauriceville Water and Utility District. Holland was elected to the Orange City Council in 2008 as the first representative from the then newly-annexed part of north Little Cypress. He also served as mayor pro tem in 2010. Pastor Jason Fuller was planning to enjoy a meal at a metropolitan mall in Quito, Ecuador, Saturday night with his 11-year-old son and three others from First Baptist Church in Orange. As they sat in a spot on the fourth floor of a mall, they felt shaking. Their interpreter told them it was an earthquake.
