Orange police were called three times early Sunday morning because of disturbances near the 2200 block of Eighth Street in the Brownwood neighborhood. On the third call, a 16-year-old was reported injured and suffered scrapes and scratches. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said people involved with the two feuding groups had out-of-town relatives visiting. They had been cooking and partying during the day. Man Charged With Arson
Orange police arrested a 24-year-old man for arson in connection with setting small fires in a unit at the Sabine River Park apartments on Pine Avenue Sunday night. Fire Marshal John Bilbo said firefighters extinguished the fires and the apartment had light smoke damage and burned textiles. Patrol Officer Perry reported he saw a large amount of smoke billowing out the front door of the apartment when he arrived at 10 p.m. After the fire was out, Officer Perry found a large burned area in a back upstairs bedroom.
