The Community Christian School Boys and Girls cross country teams struck gold again at the Texas Christian Athletic League State Cross Country meet Friday in Georgetown, TX. In April the boys and girls track teams won the TCAL state meet in both divisions for the first time in school history. The West Orange-Stark Mustangs opened district with a come from behind 39-36 win over Jasper. WOS was able to move the ball but couldn't keep up with the Bulldogs (2-5, 0-1) offense as they led 29-19 in the first half. On the first play in the third quarter, Jasper scored to make it 36-19. Then WOS flipped a switch and the Mustang comeback began while the defense shutdown the Bulldog attack. The Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a commercial motor vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 10, near the 874-mile marker west of Orange, that occurred today, October 13, 2024. The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 5:33 a.m., a 2025 International LT62E truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling east. Big Lots Survives Cut
Big Lots in Orange (technically Pinehurst) has survived the latest cut as the company filed for bankruptcy protection. Unfortunately for Beaumont and Groves, that is not the case. They are two of 32 locations set to close in Texas.
