Golden Triangle Polymers Company LLC donated $250,000 to the City of Bridge City this week to fund a park improvement project at Bridge City City Park. A ceremonial check presentation occurred at the Bridge City City Council meeting on Oct. 15, in which the city announced they would use the donation to build public pickleball courts. A Bridge City man died Tuesday after being shot by several members of law enforcement following a chase. The man scattered bullets and chaos from Bridge City to Orange before his life was ended. He’s been identified as Jeremy Culp. It started just before 9am when reports of shots fired came from two locations in Bridge City. One on Oak Circle and another on North Inwood. IP Announces More Layoffs
International Paper says they are "undergoing a transformational journey to become a stronger, more profitable sustainable packaging solutions company." That was after they announced they're laying off approximately 650 employees. This follows the announcement of laying off approximately 500 employees from the Orange plant almost one year ago to the day. They also laid off another 400 between North Carolina and Florida at that time. I don't think we've ever had such a tough decision to make for the KOGT Player of the Week sponsored by Team Granger. We had as many as nine nominees who turned in outstanding performances last Friday. We decided to go with two Players of the Week because of what each performance meant to their team. The lead see-sawed between Orangefield and Coldspring Friday and the Bobcats needed every yard of the 244 put up by Mason Manning.
