OC Inspections Show Six Perfect Scores
Slime, flies and roach feces were among the problems Orange County Health Inspector James Scales found in June. Four of the 23 food businesses scored in the mid-80s for health inspection violations while six made perfect scores. Scales went to 23 businesses and institutions during the last part of June. Perfect scores went to the Vidor High School and Vidor Junior High cafeterias serving the summer feeding program. The West Orange-Stark High School cafeteria also made a 100. BC Insurance Approved
The City Council in Bridge City awarded the contracts Tuesday for insurance to cover the city employees during the next fiscal year. Aetna will be the medical insurance replacing Blue Cross which went up 64 percent from last year. Currently, Bridge City pays $641.64 per employee per month. By accepting the Aetna plan the cost per employee will only go up slightly according to City Manager Jerry Jones. Employees will have a deductible of $6,350 and a co-pay of $30 for doctor visits and $60 for seeing a specialist.
