A woman was seriously injured early Monday morning when the SUV she was driving rolled over as she tried to enter Interstate 10 westbound near the Toyota dealership in Orange. Police report 40-year-old Jennifer Lynn Chappell of the Mauriceville area was taken by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. BC 9-10 yr. Girls Advance to State. They battled back from the losers bracket after a loss Tuesday night against Jasper. They defeated Galena Park 18-1 on Thursday with Makenna Carey pitching a no hitter and hitting a HR and Haley Munoz added a homerun. Cory Broom the very successful drama instructor for LC-M High School is moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to take a teaching position there. Three Rescued From Shrimp Boat
The U.S. Coast Guard early Monday rescued three men after their shrimp boat sank in the mouth of the Sabine River. One of the men was taken by ambulance to Southeast Texas Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The Coast Guard reports a 911 call came about 4 a.m. to the Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders that the shrimp boat Captain Kevin was taking on water. Man Goes On Shopping Spree (Sort Of)
West Orange police Friday night stopped a thief from partying. He had stolen tequila from a liquor store, along with lime juice and cigarettes from another store. He is also accused of stealing a purse from a customer in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Orange Police Detective Captain Robert Enmon said no charges will be filed for the theft from Red's Liquor on 16th Street because the man is making restitution.
