Mr. Holladay was reported missing to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Friday July 8, 2016. Mr. Holladay was last seen July 6, 2016 ay 9:30am walking in the 100 block of Alex Street in Vidor. Carlton Talks Peabody
County Judge Brint Carlton clarified Tuesday his reasons for terminating former Orange County Emergency Management Coordinator Ryan Peabody. Carlton commented that specifically he fired Peabody on May 12 for lying, insubordination, and being absent without notice. He further stated the firing stemmed from an incident that same day when Carlton confronted Peabody about taking vacation on the previous Thursday instead of Friday as had been approved by the county judge his supervisor. Pinehurst Reappoints Gunn
City Attorney Tommy Gunn was reappointed for another year Tuesday evening at the Pinehurst City Council meeting. Gunn has served as the city attorney in Pinehurst since 1988. Gunn reminded the council that he was chosen from a pool of several attorneys that applied for the position 28 years ago when current Alderman T. W. Permenter also served on the City Council. UIL Will Have Pitch Count
After tabling a decision to announce a pitch count for high school baseball pitchers earlier this year, the UIL will call for a pitch count following a decision by the National Federation of State High School Association. However each state that is a member of the association will get to come up with their own pitch counts. When the UIL previously proposed pitch counts, they suggested 95 pitches per game for pitcher 14-16 years of age and 110 pitches for pitchers 17-19. Court Restores Pay
The Commissioners Court Tuesday did a reversal of its action from two weeks ago by reclassifying the District Attorney’s Criminal Investigator to an E-3 on the pay matrix. Commissioner David Dubose who missed the meeting on June 28 when the first vote was taken requested the Court reconsider its reclassification of the Criminal Investigator’s position. The reclassification was to go into effect at the beginning of the new fiscal year on October 1 and would have meant a reduction in pay of just under $10,000. Accident Sends Two To Hospital
Two people were sent to hospital after a three-vehicle collision at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday on Strickland Drive at Edgar Brown Jr. Drive. Orange police report 52-year-old Barbara Crow, who was driving a pickup truck, was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. 38-year-old Christopher Wright, who was driving a Ford Mustang, was taken by Acadian Ambulance to Baptist Hospital in Orange. BCPD Arrest Two For Possession
On Tuesday, July 12, 2016, officers of the Bridge City Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant at 2375 Granger Drive in Bridge City. They located approximately 10 grams of methamphetamine and 0.275 ounces of marijuana. Arrested were Lisa Lynn St. Martin, 39, and forty year old Robert William Wells. Both were placed in the Orange County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance (1st degree felony) and Possession of Marijuana.
