Driver Pleads Guilty
A commercial truck driver has pleaded guilty to four counts of manslaughter in connection with an Interstate 10 pile-up in Vidor that killed four people in 2014. Roy Ellis Holcomb Jr. made the plea Friday before 260th District Judge Buddie Hahn. The judge set the sentencing date for September 29. Capital One Offices Closing
Customers of Capital One Bank received letters this week informing them that several of the branch offices are closing or going to an ATM location only. Two out of the three branch offices in Orange County will be affected by the decision from Capital One to streamline its operations. The Northway location on North 16th Street in Orange will close its doors on December 2 and will serve as only an ATM location. Kids Late, Bus Drivers Needed
Some Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School students are getting to school late because the school district has a shortage of bus drivers. Assistant Superintendent Greg Perry said some drivers are doubling up but three high school routes are still late. "They are still arriving late, but it is getting better each day," Perry said. "The tardy bell rings at 8:15 and the last bus arrived about 8:35 on the first day (Monday)."
