The City of West Orange approved Monday the grant administrator and the engineer to handle a $275,000 block grant for sewer repairs in the city. Mayor Roy McDonald shared the details of the block grant. Traylor & Associates will serve as the grant administrators while Schaumburg & Polk will handle the engineering for the project. McDonald indicated the contractors that will do the actual construction will be selected at a later date. Pinehurst Improves Wastewater Plant
Improvements to the Pinehurst wastewater treatment plant should be in the works within the next few weeks. The Pinehurst City Council held a special called session Monday to approve the contract for the construction project. M K Constructors received the contract for doing the repairs to the wastewater treatment plant. Their bid of $280,614 was over the amount of the block grant, but M K Constructors will now only replace two instead of four aerators which should save about $42,000 from the cost. Bears Back After Off Week
Following an open week the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears are getting prepared for their final non-district game. Coach Randy Crouch explains the decision for the Bears to go back to the Spread Offense which has resulted in back-to-back wins. He indicates a review of what the Bears were doing and their personnel led to the changing back to the Spread.
