A devoted resident of Vidor for 65 years, Joyce lived a life filled with faith, service, and love for her family. Weekly Fishing Report Week of August 27, 2025 Sabine LakeGOOD. 89 degrees. Fishing out to the short rigs this week with good results in 25-35 feet of water catching beautiful speckled trout on three-quarter ounce jigs with LSU color baits. Nice tripletail can be caught running to the gulf. Some nice cobia and ling can also be caught running the rigs. Finishing up with nice catches of sheepshead and drum at the jetties working live shrimp on Carolina rigs right by the rocks on the bottom. Four student-athletes, including a national champion on the track, and one of the school's most successful head coaches will be inducted into the Cardinal Hall of Honor during Homecoming weekend. That includes West Orange-Stark grad Travessa Gant. The list of inductees includes the late Gary Crockett (football, 1969-71), Gant (women's basketball, 1991-94), the late Joe LeBlanc (Track and Field, 1962-64), Brad McMakin (men's head golf coach, 1996-2006) and Mike Saurbaugh (baseball, 1986-89). Fire In Charlemont Addition
According to Orange fire personnel on scene, they responded to a report of a structure fire on Rio Grande Drive and arrived to find a single story structure with heavy smoke coming from the roof. Firefighters were able to get a quick attack and contained the fire to the kitchen and the attic. The elderly 90-year-old woman was able to escape safely and was uninjured and refused medical treatment. She said she was frying fish and went into the bedroom and came back, and the kitchen was on fire.
