Fortunately, there were no injuries for the Bears in the setback. This week LC-M faces an old rival the Bridge City Cardinals. Bears’ Head Coach Randy Crouch says the Cardinals are led on offense by their quarterback Byron Trahan and fullback Cayce Draper. Trahan does a good job running the Slot-T offense for Bridge City. Lovelady Big Test For Pirates
The Deweyville Pirates took it on the chin in their opening game of district last week against the Groveton Indians. Things do not get any easier this week for the Pirates when they play the Lovelady Lions. Groveton was the tenth ranked team in the state while Lovelady comes in ranked sixth. The Lions run the Spread on offense. Lee Holsey is a really good quarterback and throws the ball well according to Pirates’ coach Lance Dale. On Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:55 am, officers with the City of Orange Police Department responded to the 2400 blk of S. Lutcher in reference to a body in the ditch. Officers arrived and discovered a white female deceased. The deceased has been identified as 29 year old Gretta Danielle Franks of Iowa, La. The investigation indicates Ms. Franks may have been struck by an unknown vehicle while walking on S. Lutcher during the night of October 7 or the morning of October 8.
